&lt;p&gt;Ian Lamont oversees editorial content on TheStandard.com, including news and analysis. He is also responsible for working with management, developers and partners to improve the site&#039;s content, create new services for readers, and devise strategies that set the Industry Standard apart from other technology publishers.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Ian has worked for a number of media companies in the United States and overseas, including the China Television Company, the &lt;i&gt;China News&lt;/i&gt; newspaper, Taiwan&#039;s Central News Agency, &lt;i&gt;Network World&lt;/i&gt;, and &lt;i&gt;Computerworld&lt;/i&gt;. During the nearly three years he worked at Computerworld, he helped develop, launch and manage several new editorial services, including Shark Bait, Tech Dispenser, online video, podcasts, and blogs. &lt;p&gt;Ian received his undergraduate degree from the Boston University College of Communication and his masters from the Harvard Extension School. For &lt;a href=&quot;http://harvardextended.blogspot.com/2007/09/thesis-update-done.html&quot;&gt;his graduate thesis&lt;/a&gt;, he designed a computer content analysis that used China&#039;s state-run media to gauge Chinese foreign policy priorities in the post-Mao era.
