Ed. Note: Wow, that happened fast! Six Apart today announced that it bought social media agency Apperceptive. A very interesting shift in direction for them, indeed. This prediction paid out at S$0. -- The Industry Standard.

Michael Arrington wrote early on Saturday that:

"San Francisco-based blogging startup Six Apart has made a significant acquisition, we heard today from someone with knowledge of the deal. 'Significant' in the sense of a possible strategic shift for the company, if not in terms of deal size. It will be announced in the next few days."

But Mr. TechCrunch is coy on the details. On this one, we're going with Arrington co-worker Duncan Riley's instinct:

"I'm betting one of the live streaming services. Not Ustream, they just closed a round. Stickam is a bit risky content wise although so was LJ. I’m going to bet on Justin.tv, Mogulus or Kyte. Either one would fit nicely next to TypePad in the hosting side of the business. What ever it is, it has to be strong IP: it’s what Six Apart is good at selling."

This is a prediction that Six Apart will announce and agreement o buy a majority share in any one of the following companies:

- Justin.TV
- Stickam
- Moglus
- Kyte
- Qik

Any company on this list, if acquired by Six Apart, wil be considered grounds for favorable judgement.
